The Opera GX browser is free and available for download from /gx. With the web version, you need an Internet browser in order to use its features. We also recently launched our own Discord server which now has more than 250,000 members. Google Play Music is a service from Google that lets you play and download music online. GX also includes a Hot Tabs Killer feature, which lets you kill your most resource-draining tabs, and GX Cleaner to purge those old unwanted files. Along with gaming themes, sound effects, adaptive background music, and Razer Chroma RGB Lighting Effects, GX includes CPU, RAM and Network Bandwidth limiters that make the browser less resource-hungry and leave more of your computer’s resources for gaming. Opera GX is all about bringing the immersive gaming experience to browsing. Opera GX lets you do that in your browser by giving you access to your favorite music and podcasts, Instagram accounts and social messengers. The new Player feature brings this seamless experience to all podcast and music lovers, meaning you can now stream and browse without having to manage multiple devices, tabs or apps.Įspecially when working from home and spending a lot of time online, it’s important to surround yourself with the things you like. This past year Opera GX integrated Instagram and Twitter, letting you chat with the comfort of a standard keyboard and display without leaving your browser. You can also control Player with the standard playback buttons on your keyboard. ![]() This way you never have to switch apps or even click out of your current tab. What’s even better – when playing music you can simply hover over the Player icon to get a mini popup with controls. There you can stay logged in on all three streaming platforms and alternate between them. Click the icon and Player’s panel pops out, letting you navigate your music services and library. The Player feature in Opera GX is right there on your sidebar, nestled between your messengers and Flow. Whenever you start streaming video or audio in your browser tabs, Player automatically pauses, and then automatically resumes once the tab is finished. Not only does Player let you use all your favorite services in one place, it also makes sure that audio never conflicts in your browser. That’s why we’ve created the Player feature. Never again will you have to hunt through your tabs to pause your music, or stop listening to your favourite song because Chrome is guzzling up all your RAM. Music streaming is an integral part of our online lives, but juggling separate streaming apps gets annoying. Windows: MacOS / Linux: Run Google Play Music as a standalone desktop app. ![]() Player lets you keep your favorite streaming services in one place, and has a few other neat tricks up its sleeve as well. Now you can log into Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music directly from the sidebar in Opera GX. Opera GX has adopted the new Player feature that was previously only available in the Opera desktop browser. In addition to enabling you to listen to YouTube Music on Sonos, get Music Premium to listen ad free, offline and with your screen off: Add your personal music. We’ve got some great news for the music fans in the room.

![]() While many internet users share their passwords through channels like email and short message service (SMS), it’s much safer to share sensitive information through an encrypted channel, such as a secure password manager. We spent some time working with both NordPass and Bitwarden to understand how these two providers compare with respect to usability.Īlong with storing passwords for your own use, you may also be interested in sharing them with other people. If your password manager has any trouble with these functions, you’ll end up wasting time on those tasks yourself. The top providers streamline the process of signing up, importing existing passwords from another source, and storing new passwords. Naturally, ease of use is one of the most important things to look for in a new password manager. However, it’s no surprise that so many people switch to password managers to make things simpler for themselves. Remembering a long list of unique passwords is extremely complicated. This option makes them significantly more versatile, especially for people who regularly find themselves using new or shared devices. Virtually every major platform in 2023 comes with a mobile app for iOS and Android, so you won’t have to worry about that regardless of the password manager you want to use.įinally, some password managers are available via the internet, which removes the need to install any software at all. App compatibility is all about the devices, operating systems, and browsers that are supported by a particular password manager.Ĭertain password managers use dedicated desktop apps, while others focus on browser extensions. In the same way, a password manager won’t be very helpful to you if it doesn’t work with the devices that you typically use. While security and encryption aren’t exactly the most exciting topics, it’s important to take them seriously as you look for a new password manager. Other features like two-factor authentication (2FA) and zero-knowledge policies are also relevant to a platform’s overall security. As you’ll see later, however, both NordPass and Bitwarden are a little different. ![]() Most password managers use AES 256-bit encryption, which is the industry standard. Since an insecure password manager is basically useless, encryption and other security tools should be your first considerations.Įncryption refers to the process of encoding information so that it can’t be intercepted by the wrong people. When it comes to keeping track of your passwords, you can’t afford to compromise security. We centered our comparison on these five criteria to give you a clear picture of the pros and cons of NordPass and Bitwarden. Common Features We Looked Forĭifferent users have different needs and priorities with respect to password managers, but some basic features are relevant to essentially every use case. Keep in mind that the right password manager for you depends on what you’re looking for. Our goal was to bring you the most relevant factors to help you make a more informed decision. With each platform offering a long list of features, it’s tough for an average user to sift through those details and find the service that’s right for them.
